Starring Yami Gautam in the lead role, the political thriller is set against the backdrop of the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and follows the story of an intelligence officer on a high-stakes mission. Yami won Best Actress for performance in the film.Meanwhile, Rajkumar Periasamy was named Best Director for Amaran. The Tamil film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is based on the life of Ashok Chakra awardee Major Mukund Varadarajan and received widespread acclaim for its storytelling, performances and emotional depth.The National Film Awards are among India's most prestigious honours in cinema, presented annually by the Government of India to recognise outstanding achievements in filmmaking.
