NATHAN ASPINALL revealed the player he argues with more than anyone else on tour is “a feisty little b******” behind the scenes. He said: “Do you know, the one guy I argue the most with or have bust ups with is Danny Noppert. Danny Noppert is a really nice guy. But he is a t** sometimes.” Aspinall also opened up on one of the toughest periods of his career. The Stockport thrower admitted missing out on the Premier League for the first time since 2022 hit him hard and affected his motivation during a difficult campaign. Despite lifting a European Tour title this season, Aspinall confessed life on the road became difficult while dealing with problems away from darts. But The Asp insists he has rediscovered his passion for the sport after pushing Luke Littler all the way at the World Matchplay last week. He added: “Like every other year, it has been a rollercoaster up and down. I have not been playing much with other stuff going on. Which I have. “Everyone has stuff going on in their life. Unfortunately, I can’t hide away from it behind a desk. “I’m on stage and I am trying to perform and I have other stuff going on. “I have been doing well. Darts has not been my priority this year. “Those two games and tournament last week gave me the love back for the game. “It’s tough when you’re not winning. You’re away a lot from your kids and mrs. Then you’re tipping up to these tournaments playing rubbish. “Then you’re going back home on another flight with another disappointing weekend. It is hard to keep going. “But I think, on the whole, not getting the Premier League killed me. It really did. I have not really admitted that. “But it absolutely killed me. No World Series events apart from Bahrain because somebody didn’t want to go. “So, I filled in. I have had a few knockbacks this year, but my career has been about knock backs. “I have come through the other side.” Comment now
