SUBRAMANYAM Nandyal MP Byreddy Shabari said the State government has taken the responsibility to ensure timely delivery of welfare schemes to every eligible person, including the poor, the elderly, widows, and persons with disabilities. Ms. Shabari made the remarks while participating in the NTR Bharosa pension distribution programme held in Bilakalaguduru village of Gadivemula mandal in Nandyal district on Tuesday.Speaking on the occasion, the MP said that it took the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, five years to increase the pension by ₹1,000. However, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, fulfilled his election promise by disbursing a total of ₹7,000 — ₹3,000 accumulated over three months before the elections and the newly enhanced ₹4,000 monthly pension — to eligible beneficiaries immediately after assuming power.She highlighted that the credit for doubling the pension for persons with disabilities from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per month goes to Mr. Naidu. She further stated that the coalition government ensures that persons with 100% disability and those bedridden due to illness receive ₹10,000 per month, which is delivered right at their doorsteps.Ms Shabari said that she personally visited eligible beneficiaries at their homes to deliver pensions and enquired about their well-being.
