NABU Starts ‘Forest Gump’ Operation, Uncovers Crisis Plan

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) on Wednesday, Aug. 19, launched a special operation targeting an alleged criminal organization involving a current and a former Ukrainian lawmaker, as well as senior officials from the Presidential Office. According to NABU, searches conducted as part of the operation, dubbed “Forest Gump,” uncovered a document containing a crisis communication plan related to the activities of a Verkhovna Rada temporary investigative commission.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. The document outlined communication steps and messages intended to respond to the public situation surrounding the commission’s work, NABU said. The anti-corruption agencies said the alleged criminal organization operated under the leadership of the two lawmakers and involved senior officials from the Presidential Office and other individuals.
