Naatu Naatu singer Rahul Sipligunj named in FIR over alleged threats in marriage case

Singer Rahul Sipligunj, best known for singing the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu from RRR and winning Bigg Boss Telugu 3, has been named in an FIR registered in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, according to reports. A young woman has filed a complaint alleging that she was threatened and harassed in connection with a marriage-related dispute.According to a TV9 Telugu report, the FIR names Sipligunj along with 11 others. The complaint alleges that Karpurapu Rahul Reddy, identified as Sipligunj's brother-in-law, introduced himself to the woman as a relative of the singer on the pretext of marriage. She has further alleged that he later threatened to leak her private pictures and videos, claiming that the alleged actions damaged her honour and personal life.The woman has also alleged that Sipligunj threatened her and forced her to record a video statement. The contents of the alleged video are not known. Based on her complaint, police registered an FIR at the MVP police station in Visakhapatnam under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology (IT) Act.The complaint includes allegations of blackmail, threats and harassment. Sipligunj has not issued a public statement on the allegations so far.
