My Take on Others: Trying to rerack isn’t so simple

This was … more difficult than I thought it would be. We’ll get to the reasons after the poll. Here, you’ll find my FWAA/NFF Super 16 poll. A couple of links, if you’re interested: The official poll. Individual ballots. Here’s the ballot I filed Saturday night/Sunday morning: Texas Georgia Notre Dame Miami Indiana Florida Ohio State Mississippi State Alabama Utah Iowa UCLA Oregon Ole Miss Duke Pittsburgh My Take: I wanted to do a hard reset and base everything on résumé so far. That’s more difficult than I realized. Should Georgia or Notre Dame plummet because they’ve beaten one or two quality teams between the both of them? I want to avoid SEC bias — but Florida and Mississippi State have been two of the best teams in the country, right? There are 22 unbeaten teams, so why should any team with a loss be ranked in a top 16? Can you drop a team like BYU that’s unbeaten and has been ranked in this poll for past weeks, but has looked kind of ordinary? That’s how I landed on this poll. I didn’t feel great about it when I hit “submit.” I felt better about seeing the AP Top 25 that has 10 SEC teams ranked. And I see this as an ongoing project for next weekend.
