Murder probe after man found dead as cops discover body that had been ‘lying in house for days’

NewsUK News A BODY of a man has been found as cops launch a murder investigation. The man, believed to be in his 50s, had been lying in a Northampton property for days before the grim discovery was made. Cops rushed to a home in Burton Latimer after they received a call for a welfare check. Sadly, a man’s body was found at the property. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Cops believe he had passed away a number of days prior to their arrival. The body was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary for a forensic postmortem examination. A murder investigation has since been launched, with detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit leading the probe. Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson said: “We’re in the early stages of establishing how the gentleman died and I would appeal for anyone in the High Street area of Burton Latimer and who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the last week to please contact us as a matter of emergency.” Cops have urged witnesses or anyone with information to contact Northamptonshire Police via their online portal or by calling on 101.
