Murder probe after man, 28, stabbed to death on millionaires row in London as cops launch manhunt

The 28-year-old victim was attacked in the affluent area of Lloyd Baker Street in Clerkenwell on Wednesday night. His devastated family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Detectives have now launched a murder investigation as they hunt for the knifeman. Floral tributes have since been laid at the scene by the victim’s family and friends. Lloyd Baker Street, in Islington, is known for its expensive properties, with homes selling for as much as £2.25million in the past year. The street is among the more costly residential addresses in the area. This applies to the Caledonian Road, Clerkenwell and Hoxton areas. Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the local area, said: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the young man who has lost his life. “You can expect to see additional officers in the area providing visible reassurance and working with partners to keep the public safe. “The victim was found in a residential street, and members of the public may have information of vital importance to our investigation. “If you can help, please come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 8475/16SEP.
