Murder investigation launched after death of newborn baby as seven arrested as cops promise to ensure ‘justice’

NewsUK News A NEWBORN baby has died with police launching a murder investigation as seven people are arrested. Police were called to a Sheffield property at around 5:58 on Sunday following concerns for the baby girl’s safety. Tragically, despite the best efforts of emergency services, the tot died at the scene. It is not currently known how the baby passed away, but officials have asked the public to avoid speculation. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Emma Knight said: “We have a dedicated team of detectives and officers hard at work to ensure justice is secured for the baby girl at the heart of this investigation. “As part of our investigation seven people have been arrested on suspicion of murder. “All of them remain in police custody at this time.
