Mumbai Ola driver finds passenger's iPhone in cab, makes 18 km trip to return it

After finding a passenger's iPhone in his cab, an Ola driver travelled 18 km from BKC to Malabar Hill in Mumbai to return it. What followed was an 18 km-long journey from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Malabar Hill in Mumbai to return the phone to its owner.Meer Shaikh found the phone in his cab after a passenger left it behind. With no calls coming through on the device and no immediate way to contact the owner through Ola, he decided to wait.The wait eventually paid off. The customer called Shaikh and told him that he was in Malabar Hill. Shaikh was in BKC at the time, meaning he had to travel nearly 18 km across the city to return the phone.In a video shared on Instagram, Shaikh documented the journey and the eventual reunion with the owner. After reaching Malabar Hill, he handed the iPhone back to the customer. “Here, please take it,” Shaikh told him.“Thank you very much,” the customer replied, before thanking Shaikh for making the journey to return the phone. The effort did not go unrewarded. After receiving his iPhone, the customer gave Shaikh Rs 2,500 as a gesture of appreciation.“So, I gave sir his phone back, and sir gave me 2,500 rupees,” Shaikh said in the video.
