Milind Deora reacts (Photos: @milinddeora/X)A video of a Mumbai cop pushing a man and tossing his loaded bicycle aside to clear the road for a VIP convoy has triggered a strict response from Shiv Sena (Member of Parliament) MP Milind Deora.Deora shared the video on X, pointing out what appeared to be the mistreatment of a man on his cycle amid traffic restrictions for a VIP convoy. In the video, the man was seen trying to make his way through a barricaded stretch with his bicycle loaded with goods. A cop approached him and pushed him and his bicycle aside. The man then lost his balance and fell, while the cop simply tossed his bicycle out of the way to clear the path. The incident took place as a VIP convoy was being allowed through the otherwise restricted stretch of road. Deora criticised the treatment of the man and said that regardless of who the VIP was, pushing a working man and his bicycle was "unacceptable."He also wrote, "@MumbaiPolice and @MTPHereToHelp, please take strict action and make sure this doesn’t happen again." Watch the video here:The video sparked outrage from social media users, with several people describing the cop's behaviour as insensitive and inhumane. One user stressed that empathy and a willingness to help were important, while another questioned whether any action would actually be taken, pointing to what they described as a lack of strict enforcement even for basic traffic violations.Others praised Milind Deora for speaking up and said the treatment of the cyclist was unacceptable.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Sep 2, 2026 14:12 IST
