Preliminary investigation suggests that the Porsche was being driven at a high speed when the driver, identified as Vijay Pandey, allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The car first crashed into a divider before colliding with another car moving ahead.The injured child, who was travelling in the other vehicle, was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Porsche driver and his passenger escaped serious injuries as the vehicle's airbags deployed during the crash.The impact of the collision left the front portion of the Porsche severely damaged. Police reached the spot after receiving information, removed the damaged vehicles, and restored traffic movement on the Coastal Road. Traffic was briefly affected following the accident. Police have registered a case against driver Vijay Pandey under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 281 (rash or negligent driving), Section 125(A), and Section 324(4), along with Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.Investigators suspect overspeeding to be the primary cause of the crash. Police are examining CCTV footage and other technical evidence to determine the exact speed of the vehicle and reconstruct the sequence of events. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. The incident comes days after a car caught fire inside the Mumbai Coastal Road tunnel on July 15, causing panic among motorists and disrupting traffic for some time.
