Mum, 33, dies after being ‘given animal anaesthetic’ while getting huge tattoo after she ‘couldn’t cope with the pain’

A MUM has died after allegedly being injected with an animal anaesthetic called “pink cocaine” during a tattoo procedure. Cops say Yenifer Garcia, 33, was jabbed multiple times by a man pretending to be a doctor in her home in Colombia. Her friend said that she should hire an anaesthesiologist and recommended a man called Sanchez Goes. But Goes was not a qualified medical anaesthesiologist – he was a nurse with no experience in sedatives. Yenifer did not know this and decided to hire him for £141 (COP 600,000) for her next tattoo procedure. CCTV footage from August 15 shows Yenifer greeting Goes at her home in the Terrazas de San Jorge neighbourhood. The mum was initially conscious and chatting to her daughter – but when the pain became too much, she reportedly begged for sedatives. Yenifer’s sister Claudia said she had been jabbed repeatedly before she passed out. Most read in Health She said: “I understand that he did not give it just once, but every time she said it still hurt.” Yenifer’s daughter called emergency services and followed instructions over the phone on how to resuscitate her. Tragically, her first aid attempts were unsuccessful and Yenifer died at the scene, in front of her daughter. The mum’s partner, Jonathan Cantor, told cops about the phone calls between emergency services and the nurse. Jonathan claimed that Goes mentioned injecting ketamine and another substance – possibly up to seven times. The alleged victim’s sister, Claudia, also said she heard Goes mentioned a street drug called “pink cocaine” which is also used to sedate animals. A local councillor questioned how Goes was able to buy the drugs. Cllr Avellaneda said: “A person who does not have the knowledge cannot be obtaining this as if it were sold over the counter.” He said the family believe that the medications “may have triggered Yenifer’s final moments.” Bogota health official Luis Alexander Moscoso Osorio warned that sedative drugs can cause loss of consciousness, cardiovascular problems, seizures and depression of the nervous system. He said: “These medications should only be used in clinical settings that have the corresponding safety conditions.” Yenifer leaves behind a partner of more than 20 years and three children aged ten, 14 and 19.
