Mum, 24, arrested after newborn baby boy found dead in bin by horrified neighbour taking out her rubbish

A MUM has been arrested after her newborn baby was found dead in a bin by a horrified neighbour. The little boy was discovered naked inside a rubbish bag in an apartment block trash compartment in Australia last month. She was taken to hospital for assessment and then immediately detained upon release. Authorities said their main priority was always to ensure the welfare of the mum and make sure she was provided with medical help. The mum was taken to Auburn Police Station on Thursday evening. The woman is being held in custody and awaits charges, police said. Auburn Police Area Acting Commander Darren Sly said it was believed the baby had been in the bin for up to 36 hours. Most read in The Sun He said: “It’s sad and a horrific set of circumstances.” Cops said the neighbour who found the baby had undergone a very traumatic experience. She was putting garbage inside the bin when she made the chilling discovery. It is believed the baby was placed into a plastic garbage bag. Sly described the discovery as “sad” and said the officers involved were being supported. “My officers are professional, they’ll do their jobs but like anybody they’re human,” he said. “We’re talking a newborn baby here … you’re going to have feelings about it … we will assist those police in anyway that we can.” Comment now
