MTC to operate last-mile connectivity buses along Chennai Metro Rail’s Poonamallee-Vadapalani stretch

Velankanni Raj In a bid to provide last-mile connectivity to commuters, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will operate services from bus stops near the Chennai Metro Rail’s Phase II stations along the stretch from Poonamallee Bypass to Vadapalani from Sunday (October 11, 2026).Commuters accessing the Chennai Metro Rail stations can easily shuttle between bus and train services to travel to various parts of the city, the MTC said in a press release.Signage has been put up at all eleven Chennai Metro Rail stations to direct passengers to the nearest bus stops. Further, to enhance the passenger experience, the MTC and Chennai Metro Rail will explore the need for and feasibility of operating additional feeder bus services based on passenger feedback and demand.
