Mother charged over death of three-year-old son in Devonport to keep name secret until trial

A mother charged with manslaughter over the death of her three-year-old son in Auckland's Devonport will be allowed to keep her name secret until trial.Police were called to an address on Kerr Street on the North Shore on the evening of New Year's Day, finding her toddler dead.The 33-year-old pleaded not guilty in July and has today been granted interim name suppression until at least the start of her trial on 14 June next year.She was excused from appearing at Auckland's High Court today, but her parents attended.The defence has asked for the interim suppression to continue until a verdict is reached, which the judge will consider.
