The shocking case is now being treated as one of France’s most serious alleged infanticide investigations. Following the grim discovery, an investigation has been into the murder of a minor under 15. The grim discovery came after the husband argued with his wife about cardboard boxes inside their home. The couple cannot be named for legal reasons. An investigating source said: “The woman was complaining about abdominal pain when they argued, the day after she gave birth on Sunday. Most read in The Sun “The husband stayed behind when she was taken to hospital, and looked inside the cardboard boxes they had been arguing over – that’s when he found the five dead babies. “All the foetuses were decomposing, and had a been around for quite a while.” The five sets of remains were reportedly found inside the same plastic bag. A source close to the investigation told Le Parisien that the horrified husband took the bag to the hospital, which then alerted police. The woman had reportedly suffered three failed pregnancies before giving birth to the latest baby. She is also understood to suffer from the psychological disorder pregnancy denial. The Public Prosecution Service has contacted child welfare services over the couple’s two other children. The pair have a boy and girl aged eight and 12, as well as the newborn baby. Prosecutors also want the juvenile court to decide the fate of the little boy born on Monday evening. The newborn was reportedly healthy after being delivered at home on Sunday, according to a source cited by La Provence.
