There will be interesting trading markets on both matchups, although neither game might be close. Miami comes into the ACC matchup with Stanford embarking on another season filled with high expectations. Even though Stanford is coming off a win in its first game of the season, sticking close to the Hurricanes might not be easy. Florida and FAU are meeting for the first time in five years, with the Gators winning all four previous matchups in past seasons. Many traders on Kalshi, however, might prefer to opt for the other markets. While the Hurricanes might put the game out of reach rather quickly, Stanford will aim to make a push to cover the spread and score over 11.5 points. Stanford scored 37 points in its season opener vs. Hawaii, totaling 483 yards on offense. While the Hurricanes will certainly overmatch their first opponent of the season, Stanford does have a minor advantage in already having played one game. Miami might not come out of the gate as sharp as they will be a few weeks from now. Stanford also has a home-field edge, as the Hurricanes will be traveling three hours across the country, with a 9 p.m. PT start, which is essentially a midnight kickoff for Miami. Still, Stanford nearly gave away a victory against Hawaii and won’t be able to keep pace with the Hurricanes’ high-flying offense. Miami will have a significant advantage athletically and speed-wise. Darian Mensah will be making his first start as a Hurricane, and he should at least post good, if not outstanding numbers. Kalshi has yet to post any other contract prices other than the game moneylines and the first-half moneyline, which sits at 93% and $0.93 for Miami to easily lead before halftime. The Gators will officially begin their season under a new head coach and QB. Florida supporters will be looking on with much enthusiasm as Jon Sumrall now leads from the sidelines. While the season-opening opponent is clearly inferior, the Gators should be able to work out any potential issues in a season opener while still coasting to a victory. Aaron Philo takes over at QB after transferring from Georgia Tech. Florida usually employs a high-powered passing attack, but in his debut with the Gators, Philo may only be asked to pilot the offense adequately. That factor could affect over/under points event contracts when they become available. Those who want to take a chance on FAU covering what should be a large spread and possibly scoring over its projected points total can consider the same approach that Stanford traders might take this weekend. That stance will be to hope that the overwhelming favorite will underperform as it adjusts to offseason changes in the first game of the year. FAU is known for its high-paced offense and should put a satisfactory amount of points on the scoreboard, even when playing from behind throughout the game. The Owls’ defense may be shredded often enough to require the offense to punch back as much as possible. The head coach of FAU, Zach Kittley, did take on Sumrall last season when he was with Tulane, so the Owls’ offensive architect might have a good game plan on how to best attack the Florida defense.
