Good morning Middle East Eye readers, If you're just joining us, here are key developments: • President Donald Trump said US and Iranian representatives had met for "very good" talks at the United Nations, hours after he threatened Iran with "annihilation". • US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said "we engaged in lengthy talks" with the Iranian delegation through the mediators who "shuttled between the two sides throughout the day". • Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has said Tehran engaged with the United States through a Qatari mediator in New York and conveyed conditions including an end to the war on all fronts and a halt to "acts of aggression," state news agency IRNA reported. • Colombia has withdrawn its Article 63 declaration of intervention in South Africa’s Gaza genocide case against Israel, according to the International Court of Justice. • Power supply lines were damaged and a complete power outage caused in Lebanon's Nabaa el-Hamas area after an Israeli air strike targeted al-Khiam in southern Lebanon overnight. • A Palestinian was killed, and three others were injured, on late Tuesday night in Israeli shelling near al-Nafaq Street, east of Gaza City. • Canadian and Croatian prime ministers, and Angolan president, joined a chorus of world leaders who have condemned genocide against Palestinians and called for a two-state solution at the UN General Assembly. • Three commodity vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, down from four a day earlier and below the 10-day moving average of about 15. • Oil prices fell on Wednesday after President Donald Trump said US and Iranian representatives had met for "very good" talks at the United Nations. • The two-state solution is the only credible path to lasting peace and security for Palestinians, Israelis and the wider region, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said. • Saudi Arabia's Ras Tanura terminal recorded its busiest loading day since before the war on 21 September, as six very large crude carriers (VLCCs) lifted close to 12 million barrels at Ras Tanura and Juaymah.
