(Picture: ITV) For ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale, there’s been almost as much chaos off screen as there has been on this summer, with the World Cup causing schedule chaos left, right and centre. Double episodes, missing episodes, episodes on Sundays – it’s been a bumpy ride for those looking to get their daily dose of soapy goodness, but luckily, we’ve had your back with frequent schedule updates. While we’d all presumed that with the World Cup finally over, things would settle back into the usual pattern, the football affliction isn’t quite over yet, with the English Football League Cup due to cause further disruption to the schedules – though, thankfully, not to the extent of July’s tournament. There’ll be no episodes tonight – Friday, August 7 – of either Coronation Street or Emmerdale, as they’ve both been bumped from the channel line-up to make way for EFL Cup coverage, with Middlesbrough vs Wrexham taking their place. Despite what vile rapist Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) might think, she hasn’t truly broken Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins). Sunday sees her summon all of her courage to confront the woman who tried to annihilate every aspect of her life as the two women go head to head in a battle of wills. As she demands a full confession, Charity doesn’t crumble under Todd’s threats to reveal all about baby Leyla’s true parentage, and as Charity finally brands Todd as a rapist, she’s unaware that somebody has quietly entered the cottage and overheard everything.
