More cheap flights to Spain on the way as new budget airline set to launch in Europe

Many begin in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port – the French side of the Pyrenees mountain range – and finish in the Galician cathedral city of Santiago de Compostela. A new budget airline is set to introduce flights from Santiago de Compostela'Fly2Galicia was created to improve air connectivity in Galicia through direct flights from Santiago de Compostela to strategic European destinations, with competitive fares and a friendly and reliable service,' the airline's website explains.Other airlines have also introduced more routes to the Spanish destination. From June this year, Aer Lingus launched flights to Santiago de Compostela from Cork. Known as the spiritual heart of Galicia, visitors to Santiago de Compostela can wander through the cobbled streets of its UNESCO-listed old town.Ornate buildings, arcaded squares and historic monasteries surround the magnificent Catedral de Santiago, the main attraction and the final stop on the Camino de Santiago. This cathedral, which is believed to house the remains of Saint James (Santiago), draws visitors from across the world.
