Sign in to your TheGamer account The latest PlayStation State of Play brought more than a handful of exciting new announcements, with the reveal of Monster Hunter Wilds Ascension DLC expansion showcasing some exciting new features and monsters we'll face in the full release. Although we didn't get too many new details aside from a potential glimpse at its title monster and new gameplay features, Capcom might have revealed more than they intended. With one of the biggest questions since Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance was announced being what monsters Capcom will decide to bring back and give a shiny modernized makeover to, fans are already convinced they've spotted one of the series' most infamous beasts in the background of a weapon showcase. As noted by Monster Hunter content creator Shincry on X, around the 0:57 second mark of the most recent Boosted Action Breakdown trailer for the Bow you'll be able to see what seems to be none other than the original Monster Hunter's Khezu flying towards the camera in a blink and you'll miss it moment. Unfortunately, Capcom's original footage is fairly blurry, so it's hard to confirm with 100% certainty that this is in fact Khezu and not one of the fluffy birds seen in the previous reveal trailer that some fans suspect. Despite the doubts, however, the distance and size of the monster combined with its familiar flight pattern makes it hard to outright disprove the theory either. Adding even more fuel to the fire is the fact that in the very first reveal trailer for Ascendance, the ever-talented smithy Genma can be seen wearing a plush Khezu on the back of her belt. Khezu Is Certainly One Of The Series' Most Memorable Monsters With the initial reveal months ago already leading many to believe that Khezu was all but confirmed for Wild's DLC expansion thanks to the accessory, the latest tease is making the iconic monster's chance at returning skyrocket even more. Although it's great to see more returning monsters crawl their way into the series' newest release, Khezu isn't exactly the most popular pick, with a 'unique' design and frustrating playstyle that make the grotesque monster an unforgettable experience, for better or for worse. On top of Khezu, the flying monsters on the floating islands shown in the trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance also share several moves with Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate's fan-favorite flagship, Valstrax, who we would be absolutely thrilled to face again even though we've already seen both these monsters in the previous Monster Hunter Rise.
