Personal trainer Gavin Thorpe, 44, has been jailed over the rampage outside The Park pub in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on the evening of June 15. The woman had refused to get in the car with Thorpe following an incident inside the pub and asked the men for a lift home instead.CCTV of the crash shows Thorpe reversing his black Range Rover at speed into a Seat carrying the woman and two men. The impact sends the car hurtling backwards before two men scramble out. Thorpe then reverses at speed again, narrowly avoiding the car this time, before ploughing into another parked vehicle. The two men are seen jumping out of the way as the SUV hurtles toward them. Thorpe then reversed his SUV into a stone building, causing part of the structure to collapse as shocked witnesses run out of the pub. He was jailed for 23 months over the incidentThorpe then got out of the car and shouted 'Go f*** yourself boys', before throwing a brick in their direction and fleeing the scene on foot. West Yorkshire Police officers were called to reports of a collision at 9.37pm. Initial enquiries suggested the crash had been deliberate and the suspect had fled. Bradford Crown Court heard the rampage was a revenge attack fuelled by 'rage and anger' after Thorpe behaved 'unwantedly' towards the woman. One of the men in the Seat suffered neck and back pain and underwent an X-ray in hospital. The woman was left with minor injuries. Thorpe, of no fixed address, was jailed for 23 months after admitting dangerous driving, criminal damage and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was banned from driving for three years and will need to pass an extended re-test before he is eligible to get behind the wheel again. Prosecuting barrister Elizabeth Noble told the court: 'This was a revenge attack that came out of jealousy and dissatisfaction with [the female victim].'He was certainly reckless when he reversed towards [the Seat]. The target was the vehicle because they had [the woman] within that vehicle.'Sentencing him, Recorder Patrick Palmer said it was 'perhaps nothing more than good luck' that nobody had been seriously injured. He described Thorpe's actions as 'quite deliberate'. Mr Palmer said: 'This was an offence coming out of rage and anger. 'You are now building up a significant series of offences for crimes committed whilst subject to anger. 'You may wish to take as much help as you can whilst subject to custody.'
