Moment ram raid gang smash their way into Yves Saint Laurent before stealing £30,000 worth of luxury handbags in nighttime raid on London's Bond Street

This is the shocking moment a ramraid gang used a family car to smash their way into a West End luxury goods boutique.Ryan Brough and Max Tyson used a Toyota SUV to batter open the fortified display window in one of a series of raids which saw them snatch half a million pounds worth of stolen gear in just six weeks.The balaclava-clad pair’s spree saw them first target high-end independent designer outlet Bottega Veneta in Old Bond Street using a Vauxhall Insignia.They cut short the raid on the Italian designer store last November when they were spooked by builders working nearby - but still escaped with designer plunder worth £40,000.The pair, 32 and 25 respectively, then carried out a similar raid at END Clothing in Broadwick Street Soho the following week - and struck a third time at Loro Piana, a luxury Italian fashion brand, close to Harrods in Knightsbridge on 16 December.In the Knightsbridge raid, this time using a white Mitsubishi SUV to reverse into the store’s windows, they made off with goods worth almost £400,000.The gang was only finally caught when they returned to Old Bond Street in January to target the Yves Saint Laurent store there, this time using a black Toyota SUV - with their attack captured on CCTV obtained by the Mail.The gang grabbed a number of leather handbags worth up to £30,000 a piece. The witness said: '[I] was walking to my car near Yves Saint Laurent on Bond Street when I heard a loud bang.''I observed a blue car being driven into the storefront window, smashing the glass.'They described how they saw several people rush into the premises as a motorbike was positioned outside. 'I saw [them] remove items from the store and load them into the vehicle. After this, they left the scene.'They said they feel 'London is no longer as safe as it used to be', adding that they filmed from a distance 'due to the dangerous nature of the situation'. 'I contacted the police immediately and was informed that they were already aware of the incident and that officers would be attending shortly,' they added.'I was concerned by the length of time the individuals were able to remain at the scene removing bags, and by the absence of police presence during the incident.'The pair have now admitted two counts of conspiracy to burgle in relation to their £500,000 crime spree.Meanwhile chef Oliver Ndayizeye has admitted encouraging or assisting an offence by providing the Vauxhall seen in this footage to Brough and Tyson.Ndayizeye, 36, had reported his car missing to distance himself from the raid but police traced it back to him and he admitted not telling the truth to his insurance company when he reported it missing, Inner London Crown Court heard.Ndayizeye denied the more serious charge of conspiracy to commit burglary and the prosecution offered no evidence on this. The gang stormed the shop on Bond Street, swiping the bags worth up to £30,000 a piece, at around 2.58am on January 23 Photographs laid bare the aftermath of the robbery as the metal security shutters were severely damaged and pieces of glass were strewn across the floorA fourth defendant, Sonny Stringer, 30, a career thief once dubbed ‘London’s most notorious phone snatcher’, admitted handling designer goods taken in the raids.He had been jailed for two years in 2024 after he used an e-bike to steal 24 phones in one morning.Stringer admitted handling on the basis he had no involvement in the actual raids.Prosecutor Michael Bisgrove said Stringer was not involved in the raids but knew they were going to take place.He had been in contact with Ndayizeye by phone the night before the attempted burglary at YSL.Ndayizeye reported the car stolen on 16 December, one month after the attempted burglary.When police searched the car they found a top-up voucher for Ndayizeye’s phone, the court heard.Tyson and Brough, also of Islington, earlier admitted two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary between November 11 and 24 January.Judge Lynn Griffin will sentence Ndayizeye, Stringer, Tyson and Brough later this year.
