Published: 04:43 EDT, 7 November 2026 | Updated: 04:43 EDT, 7 November 2026 A man has been filmed appearing to raid an Apple store before being wrestled to the ground by security staff.Footage, reportedly filmed at the Battersea Power Station shop, shows a hooded man ripping display devices from their security tethers and grabbing several products. With the items in his hands, he jogs towards the exit, which opens into the shopping centre's foyer, decorated with Christmas lights. But as the alleged thief reaches the doorway, security guards and store employees - with Battersea Power Station branded tops - rush towards him and tackle him to the ground. The four men pin him down and pull phones from his grasp, sliding them across the floor to colleagues nearby. It is understood the footage was filmed on Thursday. It comes after data released from the Metropolitan Police showed shoplifting offences had surged around 37 per cent between February and July this year. The figures revealed just 104 shoplifters were behind more than 4,000 shop thefts in London over the past two years. Battersea Power Station is also host to the 600-seater Apple Music Hall venue, a first-of-its-kind live music space the company said was designed for intimate artist performances and global livestreams. The Met, Battersea Power Station and Apple have been contacted for comment.
