A group of four men were caught on video as they burst into the property in Hayes, West London. The group then sets about ransacking the woman’s home, stealing anything valuable they can carry. As they continue to take items from the woman’s home she sits on the bed and watches on, helpless to stop them. The thugs bag up their items and then sprint out of the property, leaving the terrified woman alone. She stands up from her bed and goes to check in on her possessions as the video comes to an end. Police have since launched an investigation into the harrowing incident which is understood to have happened on July 29. Cops said that several pieces of jewellery and around £500 in cash was stolen from the woman’s property. Despite one of the intruders seemingly being armed, no injuries were reported. A Met spokesperson said: “We are aware of a video circulating online showing a burglary in Hayes. We understand the concern that incidents like this can cause for those affected and the wider community. “Detectives are conducting a thorough investigation and are pursuing all lines of enquiry. “On Monday, 29 June at 21:57hrs police were called to reports of a burglary on Judge Heath Lane, Hayes. “Officers attended but the suspects had fled the scene. They spoke with the victim, an 83-year-old woman. One suspect was captured on CCTV carrying a weapon, but no injuries were reported. “It is believed that several items of jewellery, as well as around £500 in cash was stolen from the property. “No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries continue and anyone with information that may assist police is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 9067/29July. “Information can also be provided anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
