The officers, of Police Scotland, were conducting inquiries at a property on Glen Avenue in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire at around 2pm on July 25 when the incident occurred. Video footage captured by a local resident shows a man, described as 6ft tall and wearing dark shorts, a grey jumper and a beige baseball cap, running to a white Renault Trafic van as the two officers follow him. However, as the policemen attempt to open the driver's door, the man reverses over them before driving away. The officers, aged 43 and 41, were seen lying on the ground as the surrounding residents rushed to help them. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The 41-year-old has since been released and the 43-year-old remains in hospital in a stable condition.There were no reports of any other injuries.The van was later recovered in Kirkstyle Place in Glassford.
