Greater Manchester Police confirmed the man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without insurance. The man was put in cuffs on August 19 and will attend court later this year, they added. Most read in The Sun The force said the latest incident was part of a crack down on the anti-social and dangerous use of off-road bikes, e-bikes and quad bikes, called Operation Hurricane. This month alone, cops have made six arrests, four of which where for drug driving, and seized 14 vehicles. Police Sergeant Tom Layton from Oldham Neighbourhood Team said: “These vehicles can be extremely dangerous when used irresponsibly. “They are often ridden in places where people simply do not expect to encounter a motorbike or quad bike, creating obvious risks for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. “A split-second decision can have serious consequences.” He added: “We are grateful for the support we receive from residents. “The information they provide helps us build a clearer picture of what’s happening in their communities and allows us to target our activity where it can make the biggest difference.” Anyone with information about the anti-social use of bikes is encouraged to contact the police.
