Moment huge blaze burns next to rail tracks as trains cancelled and black plume of smoke floats into sky

SHOCKING footage shows the moment a huge blaze burned next to a railway station, sparking travel chaos with trains cancelled. The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service scrambled to the scene on Brunel Way in Slough, and started tackling the blaze just after 4pm today. Trains running to and from Slough and Windsor & Eton Central have been cancelled, sparking rush hour chaos for commuters. There will be no train services between the stations until approximately 8pm due to the blaze, according to National Rail. Residents who live nearby were also warned to close doors and windows for their safety by the fire brigade. Travellers planning a train journey on lines running through Slough have been warned to check for “potential delays”. Local bus routes can be used instead by train passengers who can show their ticket to the driver. Most read in The Sun A GWR spokesperson said: “Due to a fire on property near the railway between Slough and Windsor & Eton Central the line is blocked. “Disruption is expected until 20:00.” A spokesperson for Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said in a full statement: “At 4:02pm on Wednesday, 12 August, we received reports of a fire on Brunel Way in Slough. “Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Slough, Langley, Maidenhead and Windsor fire stations have been sent to the scene. “A crew from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has also been sent to the scene. “Crews remain at the scene at this time. Please avoid the area while our crews respond to this incident. “If you live locally, please keep doors and windows closed.” It comes after a huge fire broke out at an industrial estate sending clouds of black smoke into the sky and causing a major A-road out of London to close. Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines raced to the scene to battle the blaze on Ripple Road, Barking. A section of the A13 from London to the M25 and Essex was closed following the fire.
