Hai Nguyen, 40, flipped his Audi A6 after crashing into a roundabout at high speed while trying to evade police Nguyen appeared to misjudge the speed of his car as he attempted to brake moments before impact Nguyen was sentenced to 12 months in prison - and could face being deported upon releaseBut Nguyen, having seemingly misjudged the corner, waits too long to brake before entering the roundabout at the top of the slip road - and careens into the crash barriers. One of the officers appears to exclaim a moment before the impact and can only watch as the Audi rolls onto its side before tipping onto its roof and sliding back into the middle of the road. The car eventually comes to a rest on all four wheels, scattering debris across the tarmac, as the pursuing officers radio in the crash.Astonishingly, Nguyen - who appeared to have been thrown out of his seat - tries to climb out of the window even as police rush in to end the chase. Nguyen, of no fixed address but from Liverpool, was charged with dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to stop for a police officer and possessing criminal property in relation to the cash over the July 20 incident. He admitted all four offences and was jailed for 12 months on Monday at Chester Crown Court. Nguyen has also been banned from the roads for two years and three months, and could face a Home Office deportation order due to his 12-month sentence. The court heard he 'lost control' of the vehicle in the moments before the crash, and was found to be carrying £1,010 in cash.Judge McGarva was told Nguyen could not speak English - which may have meant he did not understand police signs ordering him to follow them. But prosecutors said officers had repeatedly tried to get his attention using sirens, hand gestures and by shouting through an open window.Sentencing Nguyen, the judge said he wanted to 'send a message' to other drivers considering ignoring police instructions on the road, and that he hoped the punishment would 'deter others' from failing to stop.
