Moebius Entertainment Picks Up World Rights To Fiona Roan Feng-I’s ‘Happily Ever After’ Ahead of Toronto Premiere

Hong Kong-based international sales company Moebius Entertainment has acquired worldwide sales rights (excluding Taiwan) to Happily Ever After, the sophomore feature from Taiwanese filmmaker Fiona Roan Feng-I. The film will make its world premiere in the Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The acquisition marks a reunion between Moebius Entertainment founder and CEO Fred Tsui, director Fiona Roan Feng-i and producer Clifford Miu, following their collaboration on Roan’s debut feature, American Girl. American Girl premiered at Tokyo International Film Festival in 2021 and received a global streaming release via Netflix following its international festival run. It also scooped five prizes at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards including Best New Director for Fiona Roan Feng-i, Best New Performer for Caitlin Fang, Best Cinematography for Giorgos Valsamis, the FIPRESCI Prize, and the Audience Choice Award. Tsui, who was previously general manager and head of sales and international co-production at Media Asia, founded Moebius Entertainment as a boutique sales and consultancy company, working on auteur-driven Asian titles with strong international crossover potential. The company’s recent slate includes Peter Ho-sun Chan’s She Has No Name, Philip Yung’s Papa, Nick Cheung’s Peg O’ My Heart, Jame Hung’s My First Of May, and Wang Tong’s Wild Nights, Tamed Beasts.
