Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for MobLand Season 2, Episode 6.MobLand has reached a major crossroads as of Season 2, Episode 6, with the Harrigans forced to flee the Cotswolds and find refuge in Mallorca as Frankie Cooper (Johnny Flynn) attacks their family home. In "A Different Corner," we finally get to meet Seraphina's (Mandeep Dhillon) mother, Priyanka (Koel Purie), and her ambiguously rich stepfather, Charlton (David Bedella). In Mallorca, Seraphina, fresh off the reveal that she's been talking to Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer), attempts to find a new solution for the Harrigans. At dinner, she offers the chance for Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) to start working with Charlton in order to expand the business globally and receive a new level of protection. However, unsurprisingly, Conrad brutally rejects her, leaving a golden opportunity on the table and Seraphina disappointed. We spoke with Dhillon about this pivotal moment in Season 2 and where Seraphina's mind is after that dinner. Dhillon also teases potential future alliances as she names Harry (Tom Hardy) as Seraphina's strongest ally and hints at a potential partnership in the future with Bella (Lara Pulver). As loyalties are tested and the Harrigans continue to spin out, it's unclear who will end up on top, but if it's not Seraphina, then at least it's not for her lack of trying. Mandeep Dhillon Breaks Down the Family Reunion Between Seraphina and Her Mom "There's always comfort in going home, isn't there?" Image via Paramount+ COLLIDER: I was so happy to see Seraphina reuniting with her mom because I was hoping for that in Season 1. How do you think being around her mom and her stepfather changes who Seraphina is and how she approaches everything? MANDEEP DHILLON: There's always comfort in going home, isn't there? And especially, like, I feel like, obviously, she loves her dad, and she's very much in that household. However, there is something very stable about her mum's life and her stepfather's life. It's very stable. But it's also a different world; she's in between the two. There's a brilliant line that Pierce says as Conrad when he says, "We're not fucking Coca-Cola, we're outlaws," and it's that. So I feel like she can really do both. She can do the whole Coca-Cola thing, and that's her when she walks into that house; that is her. She goes back into that, like, "Oh, yeah. I can handle this. Oh, yeah, I know what's cool." But then when she goes back to the Cotswolds, she's like, "Oh wait, I am an outlaw again." [Laughs] Dhillon Discusses the Big Dinner Scene in 'MobLand' Episode 6 "Deep down, she knows her dad, and she knows that it was never going to be an easy yes from him." Image via Paramount+ Conrad found out Seraphina was working with Kat; can you tease what the fallout from that is going to be in the long term? Obviously, there are going to be some trust issues now for her and Conrad. Are there negative repercussions waiting for Seraphina in the future? DHILLON: It's so funny trying to not give things away. [Laughs] Yes, but then stuff happens, and I'll just say that Seraphina may come in handy. She might be able to dig herself out of that hole by being helpful in a way. I guess that's the way that I can say it without giving you too much. Well, Seraphina gives this big rousing speech to Conrad in this episode, offering him a chance to expand his business. It's such a great moment for her, but did you think she expected him to reject her so resoundingly? Because it was a very harsh like, "No. Fuck no." DHILLON: Yeah. I think there was a bit of her that had hoped that he could see it from her point of view, and I do think he does. I think for her, it's a disappointment because she's like, "Oh, I can show you a way that actually you can just take a seat and everything can just be done for you. You could be the top, top, top of the chain," and the fact that he would rather not do that is really disappointing. I think she knows her dad well enough to know that it was never going to be an easy ask, and it was never going to be an easy pitch. Maybe she thought, "Oh, maybe he'll give me time. He'll think about it." But yeah, it is a full on abso-fucking-lutely not. And I think that 100% disappoints and hurts her as well, because she knows that the family need it, like they need that power, and they're in the shit, they're losing those all the power. So yeah, his reaction is somewhat of a shock, but then also, deep down, she knows her dad, and she knows that it was never going to be an easy yes from him. I think it's interesting during that conversation, you see Kevin and Bella perk up when she's talking about this new approach to the business. Is there any possibility of Seraphina potentially teaming up with her brother? Her and Kevin have not had the best relationship, but I did see a spark interest from the two of them. DHILLON: Well, you know what? What I will tease is that, Bella... I think Kevin, at the moment, their relationship is probably still too fractured and they have got that proper like sibling, you know. But Bella is smart. I think you see it in Bella's face where she's like, "Oh, hang on." It sort of felt like the first moment that Bella saw Seraphina for what Seraphina actually has been thinking this whole time and wants to do. So, them two will definitely be having more talks as the season goes on. Dhillon Teases Seraphina's Future and Her Allies in 'MobLand' "That's probably the first time that she's lied to him, fully lied to him, in a very detrimental way." Image via Paramount+ Who would you say is Seraphina's biggest ally right now moving forward? DHILLON: Harry. Okay, that's what I thought too, but I wasn't sure because he's playing a lot of angles in this show. DHILLON: He's playing a lot of angles, and it is interesting with Harry because I feel like he is her biggest ally, and the reason why I say that is because of what he said to her at the end of Episode 4: "I nearly done it myself." Hence why he's giving her a lifeline. And I think that he can see in Seraphina... even what he says to Conrad in Episode 6, he's like, "You gotta understand where she's coming from." Like, Harry's the sort of person where he can zoom out, observe everyone and realize what's what. Obviously, there's a part of him that will always have to double-check what Seraphina's saying and make sure, because she's broken the trust. That's probably the first time that she's lied to him, fully lied to him, in a very detrimental way. But when push comes to shove in Episode 5, when she had the opportunity for them to all die and for her to sit at the top, she did choose her family. And I think that will go a long way. Well, it made me laugh because she comes running in and gets them all out of there at the last moment. I was like, I guess she chose her side pretty quickly. I was expecting her to leave, but she's still there for them. DHILLON: Yeah, right, exactly, I know it's been so interesting to play with that with Seraphina as well this whole season. Because her massive thing is loyalty, and when push comes to shove, can she fuck her dad over or not? And does it mean that she's fucking her dad over if she's trying to get on top, you know? When she's doing it for the greater good. I mean, it's what he would do, right? DHILLON: Yeah, absolutely.
