'MobLand' Season 1 Recap: What To Remember Before Guy Ritchie's Crime Thriller Officially Returns for Season 2

Guy Ritchie's Paramount+ crime thriller, MobLand, premiered in March 2025, but has already earned legions of fans. In its first 10-episode season, MobLand introduces the Harrigan crime family, led by the ruthless Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve (Helen Mirren). Even though they hold the power, they still rely on their loyal fixer, Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), to get them out of countless scrapes. By the finale, MobLand set up numerous intriguing storylines for Season 2, which was greenlit just a few months after Season 1 aired. Here's a quick recap of everything you need to remember about the first season's mayhem and danger before Ritchie's series returns. 'MobLand' Season 1 Follows the Fascinating and Wild Harrigan Family During the first season of MobLand, a war develops between the Harrigan family and rival gang leader, Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell), after the psychopathic Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon) murders Richie's son, Tommy (Felix Edwards). Tensions continue to escalate between the two families until a new breaking point. After many fights and deaths, Richie is finally executed by Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine), but not before Harry's dedicated soldier, Kiko (Antonio González Guerrero), is killed by one of Richie's goons. This death is an important one for Harry's confidence, because it indicates that even if he thought he had considered all the possibilities in his plan, there's always a chance someone close to him could pay the price. But the end of the war between the Harrigans and the Stevensons doesn't mean that things will be peaceful now. Maeve and Conrad have landed themselves in prison. Although this is a tough break, that hasn't stopped Maeve from scheming in her Machiavellian way, and Conrad seems to have become quite popular among the other inmates. Eddie, whose dad is actually Conrad, not Kevin, has been released into the world after nearly choking his mother, Bella (Lara Pulver), to death, so who knows what fresh chaos he's going to unleash. And Harry now has a powerful enemy in Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer). After Harry asked her for help fighting off Richie, and she gave it to him, Kat asks him to team up with her to now destroy the Harrigan family. Harry turns her down, which can only spell serious trouble for him in the future. The 'MobLand' Season 1 Finale Sets Up a Thrilling Season 2 When we leave off with these characters, it's becoming clear that a huge power struggle will take place in Season 2. Harry and Kevin have successfully taken down the Stevensons, but there's no way that Maeve and Conrad will just step aside. We already know that Maeve has no qualms about having people killed, and she doesn't seem all that torn apart when her eldest son, Brendan (Daniel Betts), dies brutally in Episode 7. We're guessing that means that Kevin and Harry should be watching their backs. There's also the increasingly dangerous Colin Tattersall (Toby Jones), who has influence over both the criminal world and law enforcement, and who executes the innocent Alice Barnes (Emily Barber) in the finale. But it's not just all of these outside forces that could spell trouble for Harry — his own wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt), ends up accidentally stabbing him in the chest when she goes to push him in frustration at the end of Season 1. Season 2 of MobLand will have plenty of thrilling storylines to sink its teeth into, and there are so many questions that need answering. How will Kevin act now that he has more power? How will Maeve and Conrad get out of prison, and what will they resort to in order to wrest back control of their family and business operations? Who else will become a victim of Eddie's monstrous behavior? How dangerous will Kat become now that she's been brushed aside by Harry? There are lots of places the story can head to next, but will Harry even have Jan's support, or will she hit the road for good? No matter how things unfold, there is no way that Season 2 won't be incredibly fun to watch.
