A mobile phone and accessories, including two power banks, a charger and three data cables, were seized from Kannur Central Jail during a search by prison officials on Monday.The prohibited articles were found hidden beneath stone slabs behind the jail’s second block. The Town police have registered a case and launched an investigation based on a complaint lodged by jail Joint Superintendent A. Shaiju.The repeated seizure of prohibited articles from within the jail compound has raised concerns over security checks.
