Tyrone Razon Dotimas, Officer-in-Charge of the Camarines Sur police provincial office, said a female student reported her fellow student to her class adviser, who seized a Para-Ordnance .45-caliber pistol, a magazine, and three live rounds of ammunition from the student with the help of another teacher. The student was released to responding police, Dotimas told the Inquirer in a text message. Dotimas said the prompt action by the teachers and the immediate response of police prevented what authorities described as a potentially dangerous situation. He said the Civil Security Unit had been asked to verify the firearm’s registration and determine its registered owner.
