Mike Watt Announces New Album With Thresher, New Supergroup With Mike Baggetta & John Herndon

Earlier this year, Mike Watt joined forces with J Mascis to cover each other's bands on a split. The Minutemen cofounder has stayed active since then; most recently, he announced a collaborative album with Ontario experimental noise rock band Thresher. It's called Beekeeper, and it arrives next week.The Beekeeper singles "Sip Of The Sweetness" and "The Bee Dance" are out now. But that's not all Watt is up to. In June, Mike Baggetta announced a supergroup called Casa Sueño with Watt and John Herndon (Tortoise, 2hollis' dad). They have a tour kicking off later this month and a lead single on the way. Watt and Baggetta previously played in mssv together. Meanwhile, Watt's other supergroup Big Circle released a self-titled EP in July, and a couple months before that he reflected on the Minutemen in a profile for The New York Times.
