Published November 2, 2026 11:43 AM Patriots kicker Andy Borregales missed a 40-yard field goal on Sunday against the Dolphins, but head coach Mike Vrabel hasn’t lost confidence in him. At least not yet.Borregales has now missed three field goals (from 40, 38 and 47 yards) and one extra point this season, and the longest kick he has made is 50 yards. That’s not great, and Vrabel acknowledged that the Patriots need Borregales to make his kicks. When a reporter said to Vrabel at his Monday morning press conference that it seems like Borregales has missed a lot of kicks, Vrabel said, “It doesn’t seem like he has, he has, and that needs to get corrected.”But Vrabel then added that he remains confident in his kicker.“Got a lot of confidence in Andy,” Vrabel said. “I think when you see the timing and when the approach is in rhythm, it looks really good. We have to make our kicks. Everybody has a job here. There’s no real message, it’s, Hey, we gotta make ‘em. But I’ve got a lot of confidence. I thought he did a really good job on the kickoff. And hopefully he’s making a lot of extra points and not having him kick a lot of field goals.”It doesn’t sound like Borregales is getting cut any time soon, but that could change if he has another miss this week.
