Published October 23, 2026 04:45 PM The 49ers will be down several players when they play the Falcons on Sunday. San Francisco has ruled out receiver Mike Evans (Achilles), defensive lineman Nick Bosa (knee/calf), receiver Deebo Samuel (hamstring), linebacker Garret Wallow (hamstring), linebacker Luke Gifford (groin), and safety Marques Sigle (ankle). Losing Evans is significant for the contest, as he leads the team with 420 yards receiving and is No. 2 on the club with 27 catches so far in 2026.Via multiple reporters, Shanahan noted Bosa was likely a little too optimistic when he targeted his return to play a couple of weeks ago. But now he will have more time to heal, as the 49ers have a Week 8 bye. While receiver Christian Kirk (calf) is technically one of three players questionable for the contest, Shanahan told reporters the team is planning to activate him for the game.Defensive back Upton Stout (shoulder) and safety Siran Neal (knee) are also questionable.
