A 28-year-old migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh was killed in a wild elephant attack near Santhanpara, under the Devikulam Forest Range in Idukki, on Thursday night. According to preliminary reports, the deceased has been identified as Kumar. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the road between Ayyanpara and Kampani estate near Pethotty. Another worker who was with him managed to escape unhurt.Munnar Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Abhay Yadav confirmed the fatality. Officials stated that a joint team of forest personnel and police rushed to the spot following the incident. This marks the third fatal wild elephant attack under the Devikulam Forest Range in four months -- On August 27, S. Ochappan, a 68-year-old farmer from Tamil Nadu, was killed at Thalakkulam near Pooppara and on June 8, Mari, a resident of Chinnakkanal was trampled to death.
