Corie A Walsh, 38, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder following the horror that unfolded at the $1 million property in Frankfort on Tuesday. The mother is being held in custody while she awaits medical treatment, police said. Walsh was rushed to hospital after officers found her attempting self-harm inside the address.The toddler was also taken to hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later. Details of how the child was killed are unclear. Police said that three other children were found unharmed inside the home.According to Frankfort police chief Leanne Chelepis, Walsh will be transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a detention hearing once she is released from the hospital. Neighbors said earlier this week that they were stunned by the tragedy, with resident Carolyn Pappas saying that the case bears eerie similarities to the case of Lindsay Clancy.Clancy's murder trial for the January 2023 killings of her three young children collapsed on Friday after jurors were unable to reach a verdict.She will now likely face a retrial later this year. Pappas told NBC Chicago: 'This is just absolutely devastating, that this could be another Lindsay Clancy situation in our neighborhood, in our community. 'You never think it's going to hit so close to home. That absolutely makes us think of that.
