She really threw herself into it and was drawn to the complexity of the character and the story she was telling. “She had been offered other things, but didn’t want to come back just for the sake of working. She wanted a role that felt challenging and that she could really sink her teeth into and this ticked all those boxes.” Michelle shot to fame as feisty barmaid Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street in the noughties.
