Michael Owen to star in Tyson Fury-style Amazon documentary as he switches from football to new sport

MICHAEL OWEN and his family star in a new fly-on-the-wall documentary which is set to premier next month. Prime Video cameras follow the Liverpool and England legend in his adventures as the owner of a massive 170-acre racehorse yard. But the rest of the 90-second clip paints an entirely different picture. Owen’s youngest daughter, Jessica, denies that her dad is boring but insists he can be “quite embarrassing sometimes”. Other half Louise tells the story of their first meeting at primary school when Owen was “just a little s***”. And the Ballon d’Or winner himself, who finished the trailer by celebrating wildly after flipping a pancake onto a plate, said: “I was always exceptionally talented at football. But my family? Not a***d. “Football was my life but now it’s horse racing. All of us are really passionate about horses.” Gemma was seen being put through her paces in the trailer as she targets a ride at Goodwood. Manor House Stables features state-of-the-art facilities including well over 100 boxes, a massive uphill gallop and an equine swimming pool. Classic-winner Hugo Palmer became the yard’s resident trainer in 2022 after Tom Dascombe had served there for 12 years. Owen has already enjoyed success as a yard owner, with Brown Panther winning the Irish St. Leger in 2014 after taking a victory at Royal Ascot three years prior. Comment now
