Michael Carrick reunites with ex-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in Norway before praising Man Utd’s academy stars

MICHAEL CARRICK praised Manchester United’s academy gems for playing with swagger in the club’s 5-0 preseason win over Rosenborg. Carrick told MUTV in Norway: “That’s the best way to be as a footballer, when you’re in that zone and you’re confident, that’s my job to try and get the players in that frame of mind. “The younger players, when you see them expressing themselves and being themselves and keep pushing themselves to be better. “Some of the play in the second half was really, really good and I was delighted to see that from them. “They’ve all got potential in different ways, and you want them to fulfil it and keep pushing themselves, and they certainly did that.” Carrick met up with his former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the match on Friday. Following the defeat to Wrexham in Finland and the more structured football in Norway, United head to Sweden next.
