Mia Joy Announces New Album Star Echo Heavy Dove: Hear “Wings Of Desire”

Don't get confused: There is a 1987 film called Wings Of Desire, a British indie rock duo named Wings Of Desire, and now a Mia Joy single titled "Wings Of Desire." The song is what we're talking about today, as it's the dreamy lead single of her just-announced sophomore album Star Echo Heavy Dove.Star Echo Heavy Dove is the long-awaited followup to her sprawling 2021 debut, Spirit Tamer. The Chicago musician returned with "Comet" last month, which features Peel Dream Magazine. That track isn't on the record, but there is one guest on the LP: Midwife, whose brand of spacey ambient is completely compatible with Joy's entrancing sound. "Wings Of Desire" is inspired by the movie of the same title, and here's what Joy says about:Seeing Wenders' film for the first time helped me move internal static to words — one of those seminal moments in life where what you're watching mirrors life so dearly my only way to resolve myself was to write this song. I'm gravitated to lonely characters, solitude, longing. One of Star Echo Heavy Dove's motifs is centered around balancing the tug of war between feeling satisfaction with being self-sufficient and the willingness to give that up for the vulnerability of expanding desire. There's a great message in there about living for all that life offers, letting yourself go even if you end up bleeding. Dive into the mesmeric tune below.TRACKLIST:01 "Star Echo / Heavy Dove"02 "4th Of July"03 "Midnight"04 "Wings Of Desire"05 "Yes You Can"06 "Easier"07 "Circle" (Feat.
