Mexico asks US state attorneys general to investigate immigrant ICE deaths

Mexico has called for state attorneys general in the US to investigate the deaths of Mexican immigrants who have died in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or during agency operations. This request follows the tragic shooting death of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican immigrant killed by an ICE agent in Houston. Since Trump’s second term began, 14 Mexican immigrants have died in ICE custody, raising serious concerns about the treatment and safety of detainees. This move underscores the growing international pressure on the US to address these alarming incidents and ensure accountability.
