Metaphor: ReFantazio Announcement Officially Coming Tomorrow

Metaphor: ReFantazio Developer Is Announcing Something Tomorrow, And Fans Are Begging For Story DLC Published Nov 7, 2026, 8:28 AM EST George is the Lead News Editor for TheGamer, and has been working in the industry since 2021 after graduating from the University of South Wales with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. He has also previously written for RPG Site, WhatCulture, and PlayStation Lifestyle. George is an expert on platformers, action games, and fighters, but tends to play as many releases as possible. This hands-on experience lets him dive into gaming communities and follow the latest trends. Some of the games George has extensively covered first-hand include Dead Rising, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, Assassin's Creed Shadows, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Studio Zero, the team behind the wonderful Metaphor: ReFantazio, is teasing an announcement for the game tomorrow, although fans are very wary. It’s a little hard to believe, but it’s been more than two years since we were blessed with Metaphor: ReFantazio, which was easily one of the frontrunners for 2024’s game of the year. In a surprise move, considering it comes from Atlus (well, from an internal team at the studio, but you know what I mean), Metaphor hasn’t had any kind of major post-launch content. Sure, we’ve had plenty of smaller DLC packs and bonuses, but Metaphor has somehow avoided an improved re-release or even just a big story expansion. Fans have been hopeful that Atlus might finally confirm something is in the works for the game soon, which has made a recent tease very enticing, even if most are sticking to being sceptical. Watch It Be A Homo Tenta Statue Earlier today, the official Studio Zero Twitter account suddenly shared a rather interesting post, which started with laughter before saying, “Tomorrow, I have an announcement for you all”. The tooth emoji at the end of the post and the image of a Homo Tenta make it clear the post is coming from their perspective. While that fact alone should probably tell you that this isn’t going to be a major announcement, fans are going wild in the comments and praying that we’re finally getting a story DLC. Others are expecting a Persona 5 Royal style re-release, which would make some sense considering it’s been two years since the original launch. I don't think that would be dropped on a random Sunday, though. Of course, this is Atlus we’re talking about, and as the Persona 30th anniversary has taught us, there’s a very good chance that whatever’s being teased here is actually just merchandise. Metaphor already has a ton of merch, but the Homo Tenta getting its own statue or diorama would make some sense considering how the post is worded. With all of that in mind, you should probably be careful not to get too excited about whatever announcement is being hinted at here. What’s coming could be grand and incredible like an expansion or re-release, but it could also be a literal toothbrush based on Homo Tenta, so take it all with a pinch of salt.
