Metal Gear Solid: Snake Vs Cyborg Officially Announced

First released back in 1998 as the third mainline installment in the Metal Gear franchise by Konami, courtesy of Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid completely revolutionized the action-adventure stealth genre for gaming. Experienced from a top-down perspective, players take on the role of Solid Snake after he is pulled out of retirement in order to infiltrate Shadow Moses, a nuclear weapons facility which has been taken over by Liquid Snake and his team of rogue agents. In order to stop the agents, known as FOXHOUND, Solid Snake must liberate the hostages and prevent Metal Gear REX from being unleashed, a mecha unit capable of delivering a nuclear warhead to anywhere in the world. No pressure. Now regarded as one of the most iconic video games of all time, Metal Gear Solid is remembered fondly to this day, and it was back in 2004 that Konami released a remake, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, for the Game Cube. Whilst there may have been plenty of other Metal Gear entries since Metal Gear Solid, there is no denying that the 1998 release marked a turning point in gaming, so it is no surprise that one company has plans to commemorate it in style. To help celebrate some of PlayStation's most iconic classic titles, Wilder Toys has announced a brand-new collection of four Console Heroes diorama sets featuring some of our favorite characters throughout gaming history. Announced at the latest Sony State of Play event, the main product is the Console Heroes: PlayStation 1 Console Display, which offers fans of the original PlayStation console the chance to display it in their homes courtesy of a stunning recreation. Not only that, but it will offer a stylized display and 1.5-inch figures of some gaming icons. "The molded environment features layered shelving, a printed PlayStation backdrop, and dynamic display options to recreate action scenes. The console closes for compact storage, while figures are designed for external display." Standing alongside Axel from Twisted Metal 2, Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter, Yagi from Cool Boarders, and even Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil, the collection also features one of Metal Gear Solid's most iconic battles: Solid Snake vs Cyborg Ninja Diorama. Depicting a stunning recreation of the lab battleground, complete with equipment and control panels, the diorama, most importantly, comes alongside 1.5 figures of both Solid Snake and the faceless Cyborg Ninja. The Metal Gear Solid Snake vs. Cyborg Ninja Diorama, alongside The Console Heroes PlayStation 1 Console Display, Twisted Metal 2 Hong Kong Diorama, and Final Fantasy VII Burning at Nibelheim Diorama, are all available to order now from Wilder Toys and will make for the perfect addition to the shelf of any classic PlayStation fan.
