Meet the New Guys: Jersey numbers, updated measurements for Alabama summer additions

Before Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama contingent answer questions at SEC Media Days later this week, the Crimson Tide and the other 15 teams released their media guides for 2026. Six members of Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class made their way to Tuscaloosa in May. Wide receivers Amari Sabb and Aubrey Walker, defensive linemen Malique Franklin and Nolan Wilson and offensive linemen Bear Fretwell and Jared Graham (formerly Doughty) were the only members of the Tide’s sixth-ranked signing class who didn’t participate in spring practice. But they have now been on campus for over a month and are set for their first fall camp. In addition to the six newcomers, two more freshman walk-ons were added to the roster — long snapper Eli Deutsch and defensive back George French II. Deutsch was the No. 10 snapper in the country, according to Kohl’s Kicking. French attended Homewood (Ala.) High School. There was also a summer addition to the roster from the junior college ranks. East Mississippi Community College linebacker Bubba Odom, a senior, is listed in the media guide. He originally signed with Northern Arizona out of Jasper (Ala.) High School and spent two seasons with the Lumberjacks before transferring. At East Mississippi, Odom played in nine games for the Lions in 2025 and recorded 16 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and six pass breakups. 24 – Amari Sabb, WR – 5-9, 15526 – Aubrey Walker, WR – 5-10, 17030 – Bubba Odom, LB – 6-4, 23531 – George French II, DB – 6-1, 19544 – Nolan Wilson, DL – 6-5, 25047 – Eli Deutsch, SN – 6-2, 22557 – Bear Fretwell, OL – 6-7, 29066 – Jared Graham, OL – 6-6, 30093 – Malique Franklin, DL – 6-6, 252 Alabama’s roster currently sits at 120 total players after the latest roster update. No new heights or weights were added for any of the Crimson Tide players who were on campus this spring. Alabama will begin preseason practice at the start of the month.
