Mecca Coffee DarlinghurstCafe$A coffee cave opens in Darlinghurst.Mecca has been a gathering place for specialty coffee drinkers since 2005. This latest cafe, their third alongside Paddington and Alexandria, might be the most striking yet. Set within Darlinghurst’s new Oxford & Foley precinct, it has striking cave-like interiors by design studio Killing Matt Woods, inspired by the underground dugout homes of Coober Pedy. There’s indoor and outdoor seating for a proper coffee catch-up, and a serving window and standing bar for a quick iced latte on the go. Espresso is pulled on an imported La Marzocco Strada X coffee machine, alongside batch brews, pour overs and cold brews, made with rotating single-origin and blended coffees, the beans sourced by Mecca and roasted in Alexandria. Pastries are delivered daily from Iggy’s in Bronte.Good Food reviews are booked anonymously and paid independently.
