McDonald’s just launched its first-ever Crocs Happy Meal in the UK

The fast food chain has ditched the World Cup Squishmallows and unveiled its first-ever collaboration with Crocs in the UK and Ireland. But before you get your hopes up, you won’t find a pair of shoes inside the iconic red box. You won’t even find a charm to decorate your own pair with. Despite this, plenty of Brits are still going wild over the collectibles that come with the children’s meals. What is fun is that each mini shoe keyring is tucked inside its own tiny shoe box. For those who aren’t keen on the shoes, you can request a book with your meal instead, and this month’s option is Rob Biddulph’s Gigantic. And the fun doesn’t stop there, as Happy Meal activity packs and sheets will also be available in restaurants during the promotion, and if you head to happymeal.com there’s an interactive ‘Style your Crocs’ game. There are 12 different ones to collect (Picture: McDonald’s) How to get a £2.99 Happy Meal Happy Meals start from £4.39 (prices may vary between restaurants), and kids can choose between a Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Mayo Chicken, McFish and Chicken McNuggets. These are served with a fruit or vegetable bag side, and a selected small cold drink. Customers with the McDonald’s app will be able to nab cheaper Happy Meals throughout August, as it’s available to purchase on there for £2.99. On social media, Crocs fans have hailed the Happy Meal collab as their idea of ‘heaven’, with many claiming they can’t believe it’s ‘real’ and they are ‘over the moon’ about it. ‘We need to go every night to collect them all,’ said Gaz Hohnston on Facebook. Similarly, Sarah Scott wrote: ‘I need these in my life, how cute.’ Kirsty Jones admitted she was ‘buzzin’ for the keyrings, while Rheanne Pearl commented: ‘I am soooo excited for this.’ Others said they would be getting a Happy Meal ‘every day’ in a bid to collect them all, but not everyone was thrilled with the toys. A few were disappointed that all the keyrings are for the right foot, as this means they aren’t able to have a proper pair. And some also wanted to know why the meals didn’t come with actual shoes, or shoe charms, which they think would have been more useful.
